The VonShef Fondue Set makes for an easy meal and a great talking point. Traditionally used to create a pot of melted Swiss cheese into which chunks of skewered bread are dipped, this set takes the concept a little further so you can vary the theme whenever you like.
Fill the pot with oil instead of cheese and you have the perfect medium for cooking small pieces of steak, lamb or chicken. You could even use it to deep fry fish or seafood in batter for tempura. Switch to a quirky dessert by filling the pot with chocolate and cream to create the ultimate chocolate fondue – just the thing for dipping fruit and marshmallows for an indulgent after-dinner treat.
The VonShef Fondue Set comes with 6 long-stemmed fondue forks, each with a coloured tip for easy identification by your guests when it’s in the pot.
The burner has an adjustable flame and a simple snuffer for safety and can be fuelled with either methylated spirits or solid fondue gel. The set is constructed from durable cast iron, with an enamelled finish for great looks and easy cleaning. There’s also a splash protector ring to prevent hot oil causing burns.
Cheese Fondue: It’s the classic dish and is so simple to prepare. Combine a couple of cheeses – Alpine varieties such as Gruyere, Fontina, Kaltbech and Raclette are best - with a little white wine and a spoon of cornflour. Try different cheeses till you find the blend you like best.
