Traditional Fish & Chips (Air Fryer Style)

Craving fish and chips? Walk past the chip shop and make your own at home. You won’t believe how easy it is to create traditional fish & chips in your kitchen, with up to 80% less fat. Head to your air fryer for tender fish fillets in the crispiest coating, served alongside light, golden chunky chips.

Traditional Fish and Chips



  • 2 cod fillets
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 30g tortilla chips
  • 300g red potatoes
  • ½ tbsp lemon juice



  1. Scrub the red potatoes clean and slice into long, thin pieces. Soak the potato strips in water for around 30 minutes, drain and pat dry with kitchen roll, leave to one side for later
  2. Pre-heat your air fryer to 180°C
  3. Slice cod into four equal pieces
  4. Rub the lemon juice, salt and pepper lightly over each piece of fish
  5. Place tortilla chips in your food processor; process until ground to a fine and crumbly breadcrumb consistency. Transfer to a bowl
  6. In a separate bowl, crack the egg and whisk thoroughly
  7. In turn, dip each piece of fish in the egg, then in the ground tortilla chips, coating evenly
  8. Place the potato strips into a bowl and coat with olive oil
  9. Place fish and potato strips in your air fryer bowl - fish on one side, potato strips on the other
  10. Cook for 15 minutes then tuck in
