Plaited Puff Pastry Porkers

Forget gourmet hot dogs and posh sausage rolls – these plaited puff pastry porkers are made for the festive season. Plus, it’s outrageously easy to make these bite-sized beauties from scratch. Delicious served hot or cold, show these off at your next soirée for a sure-fire party platter hit.

Posh Sausage Rolls

  • Flour, for dusting
  • 500g ready rolled puff pastry
  • 1 medium egg, beaten
  • 8 smoked pork hot dog sausages

  1. Preheat oven to 200°C / 400°F / Gas Mark 6 and lightly flour your work surface
  2. Roll the pastry out and bash lightly with a rolling pin
  3. Using a knife, score equal lines across the length of the pastry, leaving a one inch border at either side
  4. Gently brush a little beaten egg over the pastry
  5. Thread sausages through alternate rows in a ‘weaving’ action
  6. Transfer to a non-stick baking tray and place in the fridge for 20 minutes to allow the pastry to harden
  7. Remove from fridge and brush remaining beaten egg over pastry
  8. Cook for 25-30 minutes until puffed, golden brown and crisp
