The Domu team is putting the VonShef 3-in-1 Snack Maker to good use for National Doughnut Week! The most delicious week of the year starts tomorrow and will run up until the 19th – all in aid of The Children’s Trust. This annual event is not only the perfect excuse to indulge in one of the most delicious desserts but to raise awareness for a charity doing incredible work to support children with brain injuries.
The Children’s Trust is the UK’s leading charity for children with brain injury. Now in its 34th year, the charity has supported thousands of children – and their families – through clinical rehabilitation and respite care, and intends to continue to help thousands more with the continued support of fundraisers.
That’s where Domu comes in… and the doughnuts. National Doughnut Week was originally supported by cafes and local shops, which were asked to donate a percentage of their doughnut sales to the charity. In more recent years, it’s grown in popularity, seeing offices and educational establishments getting in on the action.
In an effort to raise awareness of such a great cause, Domu has partnered with local blogger Majella Rose to create a doughnut to resemble Manchester. Her Manchester Tart inspired creation transforms the humble pastry into a spectacle of a dessert! Her tasty looking recipe is a fluffy ring doughnut with a creme patisserie and fresh raspberry filling, topped with a cherry glaze and a shortcrust and coconut crumb… in other words, it’s every doughnut lovers’ dream.
You can read all about her doughnut and get the recipe in her post here
If you want to get involved by cooking up your own little rings of delight, make sure they’re flawlessly fluffy with the VonShef 3-in-1 Snack Maker. And however you choose to finish them – with a sticky glaze, a cookie crumb or a sugar paper pattern – be sure to share them using #VonShef3in1SnackMaker.
