Halogen Oven Fillet Steak Supreme

Succulent, tender and cooked to perfection, it’s super easy to achieve an authentic steakhouse-style dish with your halogen oven. Try a tangy new style with this homemade marinade and cook up a storm.

Halogen Oven Fillet Steak


  • 4 large fillet steaks
  • 110ml red wine
  • 1 large onion, chopped
  • 4 cloves of garlic, minced
  • Rind of 1 orange, grated
  • Rind of 1 lemon, grated
  • 2 grated carrots
  • 4 tbsp cream or sour cream
  • 1 bunch of parsley, chopped
  • Salt and pepper


  1. Place the fillet steaks in large bowl
  2. In a separate bowl, mix the red wine, garlic, salt and pepper. Once combined, pour the mixture over the steaks. Leave the steaks to marinate for 4 hours, turning occasionally
  3. Line out 4 sheets of tinfoil. Place a steak in the centre of each sheet (keep the marinade to one side). Raise the sides of the tinfoil around the meat to form a makeshift bowl and, on top of each steak, equally distribute the carrots, lemon and orange rinds, onion and parsley
  4. Ladle the remaining marinade onto the meat and vegetables; close and wrap the foil to create a tight parcel
  5. Place the parcels on a low rack in your halogen oven and cook for 30-45 minutes at 190°C (depending on how you like your steak)
  6. Once cooked, carefully take out each parcel, transfer to a plate and remove the foil
  7. Add a dollop of cream on each steak and enjoy
