Chocca Blocka Triple Chocolate Banana Bread

Light, moist and oozing chocolate: this triple chocolate banana bread is one for the chocolate lovers. Deliciously decadent and oh-so-easy to make.

Triple Chocolate Banana Bread


  • 200g flour
  • 60g cocoa powder
  • 1 tsp bicarbonate of soda
  • ½ tsp baking powder
  • 120g unsalted butter
  • 3 tbsp brown sugar
  • 100g white sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 4 small ripe bananas, mashed
  • 3 handfuls of chocolate chips


  1. Preheat oven to 175°C / Gas Mark 4 / 350° F
  2. Grease and flour a loaf tin
  3. In a large bowl, combine flour, cocoa powder, bicarbonate of soda and baking powder; leave to one side
  4. In a separate bowl, or in your stand mixer, cream butter and sugars together until fluffy. Stir in the eggs, mashed bananas and chocolate chips
  5. Once combined, gradually add the flour mixture and stir until combined
  6. Place the mixture into the loaf tin and bake for 50 – 60 minutes, or until a fork comes out clean; leave to cool then dig in
