3 Ingredient Nutella Palmiers

Craving a chocolatey treat? Then feast your eyes on these utterly buttery Nutella palmiers. Gooey Nutella, enveloped in golden puff pastry – a melt-in-your-mouth take on a classic French delicacy. Enjoy with a café au lait for a truly continental experience.

2 sheets ready rolled puff pastry
150g Nutella
Handful brown sugar
1 egg, (optional)


  1. Preheat your oven to 200°C/ 400°F/ Gas Mark 6
  2. Dust your work surface with a liberal amount of brown sugar
  3. Lay out the puff pastry sheets (flatten a little if necessary)
  4. Spread the Nutella over the puff pastry evenly, right to the edges
  5. Roll the dough up: start at one end and roll the dough inwards, stopping in the middle. Repeat with the other end. For small palmiers, roll the longer sides together, for bigger palmiers, roll the shorter sides together
  6. Wrap in tin foil (or the parchment paper that many puff pastry sheets come in) then place in the fridge for 30 minutes to set
  7. Cut the rolled dough into slices and arrange on a lined baking tray. If you're using an egg, beat the egg to form an egg wash, and brush over the pastry
  8. Bake for around 20 minutes, or until golden brown
  9. Eat hot or cold (if you can resist!)
