Slow Cooker Cold Chasin’ Chicken Stew

Keep out the chill this season with this hearty, belly-warming slow cooker chicken stew. Comfort food at its very finest: oh-so-tender chicken with chunky veg. This is a certified crowd pleaser.

Ingredients


1 leek
1 carrot
1 onion
350g potatoes
6 chicken legs
200g petits pois
1 pint chicken stock
Pinch of salt and pepper
4 tbsp vegetable gravy granules

Method


 

  1. Chop the leek, carrot, onion and potatoes into small pieces
  2. Add the chicken legs, followed by the potatoes, carrots, onion, leek and petis pois to the slow cooker
  3. Mix in the gravy granules with the chicken stock and pour the ingredients slowly and evenly over the chicken and vegetables
  4. Turn on the slow cooker, set to low, cover and cook for up to 8 hours
