Halogen Oven Chinese Roast Chicken

If you can’t stomach another Sunday roast, mix things up with this deliciously spicy Chinese style chicken. Ready in less than an hour (seriously!) you’ll have more time with the family than hovering over a hot oven.

Halogen Oven Roast Chinese Chicken

Ingredients


1 large chicken
1 tsp five-spice powder
1 tsp crushed garlic
75ml soy sauce
1 tsp finely grated ginger
1 tbsp honey
1 tbsp sesame oil

Method


  1. In a bowl mix all of the ingredients together (bar the chicken) to form the marinade
  2. Place the chicken in the bowl and, using your hands or a pastry brush, cover all of the chicken in the marinade
  3. Place the marinated chicken in the fridge and leave to marinate for at least two hours
  4. Set your halogen oven to 250°C and cook the chicken for 30-40 minutes
  5. Carve and serve
