Benefits of Juicing & Recipes

Overindulged a little lately? Cheat day turned into cheat week? Or just generally feeling a bit low on energy? If any of this rings a bell, it's worth looking at the benefits of juicing. Adding more fruit and vegetables to your diet can be as simple as a juice a day.

Going crazy on the carbs, sugar and stodge is a fast track to feeling pretty lousy. Just a few days of skipping a healthy dose of fruit and veg can take its toll; leaving you feeling tired, bloated and lethargic. There's no shame in enjoying a blow out evey now and then, but fruit and veg are what your body really craves.

Benefits of juicing

What are the benefits of juicing?

  • Weight loss: when combined with a healthy balanced diet, juicing can help to give unwanted pounds the push.
  • Get your 5 a day: if you struggle to eat 5 portions of fruit and veg every day, juicing can make it much easier. Plus, if you lead a busy lifestyle, juicing can save you time by getting a big hit of goodness in one go.
  • Increased energy: when your body has all the nutrients it needs, you’ll feel energised and ready to take on whatever the day throws at you.
  • Relaxed digestive system: because it generally takes less time and energy for your body to digest liquids over solids, juicing can give your body a much needed boost.
  • Increased hydration: juicing tends to work best with fruits and vegetables that naturally contain a lot of water. So as well as getting a good intake of vitamins and minerals, you’ll also benefit from plenty of hydration.
  • Eliminates toxins: providing your body with lots of nutrients can help your body flush out toxins in the liver, colon, kidneys and intestine for improved health all round.

So, where do I start?

First things first, if you haven’t already, you need to arm yourself with a juicer. This one is great if you’re just starting juicing. This one is a bit pricier but you’ll get more juice from your fruit and veggies.
